Living with chronic illness? It’s the journey that matters.

First time visiting? Stay a while – you’ll find information, inspiration and support that will help you live well physically and emotionally with your chronic illness – whether it’s an autoimmune disease or one of many other chronic conditions.
I know what it’s like to be chronically ill. For the past 15 years I’ve lived in the shadow of the perfectly healthy person I used to be.
When we’re ill we want to race to the destination: better health, well-managed disease, a return to the “normal” we used to know (and probably took for granted).
I want to reach that destination, too. And although I’m living forward and moving toward better health, the destination often seems elusive. The truth is that the only way to get there is one step at a time. That’s why we have to focus on the journey.
I’m learning how to live with my autoimmune disease: finding ways to cope with and manage physical and emotional challenges, empowering myself with information, and discovering ways to be inspired to live well.
I want to share my journey with you. I promise to keep it honest. Let’s be real – life with chronic illness isn’t predictable and it isn’t easy. It forces us to rethink so many that things that we may have taken for granted.

You can find my story here. Chances are there was a time when your biggest hurdle was getting the right diagnosis. My first post examines the rocky road that many of us navigate as we search for answers to vague symptoms and begin our journey of living with a long-term disease.
I hope you’ll spend some time here and share your thoughts and experiences, too. Don’t forget to subscribe so that I can email you when I post new content.
